Who are we, where do we come from, and where are we heading?

Current electrical grids are changing rapidly. The increase in energy demand, the use of clean energy sources, and new technologies make it necessary to reconsider current energy infrastructures and markets.

Since our inception in 2007 as designers and manufacturers of electronic equipment for locating and mapping electrical distribution networks, we have always been on the lookout for new opportunities that emerging technologies can offer to the electric distribution sector. The new energy paradigms, with the integration of sensors into the grids (Smart Grids), allowed us to take a step further and focus all our innovation on the digitalisation and value generation of electrical distribution networks.

Today, Ariadna is the strategic technology partner that supports electricity utilities in the end-to-end digitalisation of their distribution networks. As a software development company specialised in the power sector, we combine our deep grid expertise with field operations experience, remote management, sensing, system integration, grid twin technology, data processing, advanced algorithms and artificial intelligence (AI) to turn network data into operational and investment decisions. Ariadna integrates data and systems across different levels of the distribution grid to provide a connected operational view of both MV and LV networks.

We are hardware- and software-agnostic, integrating with each DSO’s existing ecosystem — GIS, SCADA, ADMS, AMI/HES, MDM, datalakes and corporate platforms — to complement their systems, maximise the value of previous investments and scale where we deliver real value. Our independence enables us to work with different manufacturers, devices, communication technologies and IT/OT architectures, helping each distribution company decide what it needs, where to act and how to prioritise investments based on technical and economic criteria.
